Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most. If you cannot find what you are looking for, write to us — a real person will reply.

Delivery & shipping
How long does delivery take?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and arrive in 7–12 business days to mainland UK addresses. You will receive a Royal Mail tracking number as soon as your order leaves our warehouse.

We do not ship on weekends or UK bank holidays — orders placed on Friday typically ship the following Monday.

Do you offer free UK delivery?

Yes. UK delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend. This covers mainland UK — Highlands, Islands, and offshore addresses may have extended transit times, which we will confirm on request.

Do you ship internationally?

At this stage, Auria House ships exclusively to the United Kingdom. We may expand to the rest of Europe in future, but we would rather do one market properly than three badly.

How do I track my order?

Once your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive a confirmation email with your Royal Mail tracking number. You can track the parcel directly on royalmail.com using that reference.

If 48 hours have passed since your order confirmation and you have not received a tracking email, please check your spam folder first, then email us at hello@auriahouse.co.uk.

Product & technical
What does IP rating mean, and why should I care?

IP (Ingress Protection) rating tells you how well a light fitting resists water and dust. The first number is dust, the second is water. For lighting, the second number is what matters.

IP20 — indoor use only, no moisture protection.
IP44 — splash-resistant, safe for most bathroom zones.
IP65 and above — outdoor rated, safe against rain and garden hose exposure.

Every Auria House listing states the IP rating where relevant. If a piece is intended for a bathroom or outdoor use, we will never list it without confirming it meets the minimum standard for that zone.

What colour temperature are your lights?

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin (K), and it defines the "warmth" of the light. Lower numbers are warmer and more yellow. Higher numbers are cooler and more blue.

2700K — warm white, close to traditional incandescent. Best for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining.
3000K — soft white, slightly crisper. Good all-round.
4000K — neutral white. Best for kitchens and bathrooms where task visibility matters.

Every product listing specifies the colour temperature — we will not ship a piece described only as "warm" without a number next to it.

Are your products compatible with dimmer switches?

It depends on the piece. Each listing states whether the product is dimmer compatible and, if so, which type of dimmer — trailing edge or leading edge. Most modern LED products require trailing edge dimmers for smooth behaviour without flicker.

If your current dimmer is more than 10 years old, it is likely leading edge — and may not work correctly with modern LED fittings. If in doubt, write to us with the product you are considering and we will advise.

Do your lights come with bulbs included?

It varies by product. Some of our pieces are sold with integrated LED modules (no separate bulb required). Others use standard fittings — typically E27, E14, or G9 — and require a bulb to be supplied separately.

Every listing states clearly whether bulbs are included and, if not, which fitting type and maximum wattage the piece supports.

Installation & compatibility
Do I need an electrician to install your lighting?

For any hardwired installation — ceiling pendants, wall sconces, ceiling lights — we strongly recommend a qualified UK electrician registered with NICEIC or NAPIT. In the UK, fixed wiring work falls under Part P of the Building Regulations.

Plug-in pieces — table lamps, floor lamps, and our Plug-in sconces — do not require an electrician and can be set up by the customer in minutes.

Will your products work with UK voltage?

Yes. Every product in the Auria House catalogue is specified for UK 220–240V mains and ships with a UK-compliant plug or fitting. This is a minimum requirement of our curation process — we do not list products that would require a voltage converter or plug adapter to work safely in a British home.

Returns & support
What is your returns policy?

We offer a 30-day returns window from the date of delivery. If a piece is not right for your space, you can return it in its original packaging for a full refund of the product cost.

Return postage for change-of-mind returns is the customer's responsibility. If the item arrived damaged or faulty, we cover return postage in full and issue a replacement or refund as you prefer. Full details on the Refund Policy page.

My order arrived damaged. What now?

We are sorry — it happens occasionally despite careful packing. Please email hello@auriahouse.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photographs of the damage, including the external packaging if possible.

We will arrange a replacement or a full refund, and cover all return logistics. You will not be asked to pay anything.

How do I contact Auria House directly?

The fastest way to reach us is by email at hello@auriahouse.co.uk. A real person from the team will reply, usually within one business day.

We do not run a phone line — we found that the quality of support is higher when we can take the time to answer properly in writing, including specifications, photos, or installation advice where useful.
